The vendor is required to provide geotechnical environmental professionals for soil and erosion inspections, plan reviews, engineering and construction management services.
- Developed for individual work assignments; may include:
• Conduct soil and erosion inspections
• Review plans
• Provide engineering and construction management services
• Serve as the community rating system (CRS) coordinator
• Review existing data and reports by others for a specific site to guide additional work needed to evaluate slope stability and interaction with existing drainage systems, if present.
• Perform reconnaissance, subsurface explorations, install piezometers, and monitor to support refined slope stability assessments.
• Perform slope stability analyses relative to existing and/or future drainage systems, as appropriate.
• Provide recommendations for future investments to improve and/or maintain drainage systems in landslide-prone areas or provide recommendations for other landslide mitigation measures.
• In a geotechnical engineering report, provide recommendations for long-term monitoring of a landslide prone area including thresholds for groundwater levels that would substantially increase landslide risk.
- The professional services involves providing assistance to planning and community development staff on a work assignment basis in a variety of technical, graphical, and review activities, such as site evaluations and follow-up.
- Additional projects may include the following:
• Evaluate existing practices and suggest options for improvement;
• Review current practices to ensure "best practices" are implemented in the department;
• Establish activities and budget for specified consulting services;
• Evaluate fee schedule for soil, erosion and sediment control services;
• Provide recommendations to contractors and/or property owners regarding site conditions, and other specific soil and erosion control activities as may be requested;
• Attend in office meetings as requested by the planning and community development staff.
